Sunday 10th September - KVK at the Olympic Velodrome

One of the most exciting things about working with young people is the way they have a natural ability to capitalise on the opportunities put in front of them.  As a Go Ride Club our riders are eligible to attend Club Cluster sessions at the Lee Valley Olympic Velodrome.  Previous graduates of these sessions include Toni, Polly, Ellen & Calvin and now it looks like the next batch is starting.............

Dan, Eloise and Hope

Words and pictures from Claire:

Well I’m sure you were thinking of us this morning as we hauled ourselves out of bed for the usual early start – how quickly the lie ins of the holidays have been forgotten!  We bumped into Eloise on the way up but then managed to beat them to the car park as their sat nav directed them differently in the closing stages.  Dan arrived shortly after and then there were three.  They all looked very eager to get going with it being Eloise’s first time at Lee Valley and of course Hope was excited about trying out her new bike.

All went well and Eloise took to it very naturally without showing a hint of nerves despite almost being taken out by a crash just ahead of her.  There was a brief pause to make sure everyone was ok.  All three KVK safe and well but a trip to A&E to check on a wrist injury for a Hillingdon Slipstreamer L  Dan was storming around after some growing over the summer and Hope has finally found her confidence on the boards.
All in all a very happy morning for them.  Meanwhile, Ellen did her training out in the sunshine!
